Friends Right?

A more clear gifset.

Lea: Isa..

Welp, there his is.

I can’t help but feel like two vital characters have not been seen in any DDD promotional material

Kairi and Isa. I know this has to be on purpose. Kairi because there is just too much buildup to have her sitting around and stagnating for the entire length of a game, much less the final game before KH3. Aqua was presented as such a powerful character and then when we see her pass along the power to Kairi, it just confirms how much potential she has as a character. And though Kairi was not purposefully granted the Keyblade (there are no accidents, only links in a much larger chain of events) she was still able to recieve it,  which is significant unto itself as not everyone can simply wield the Keyblade. Remember Captain Jack? He wanted a Keyblade himself, and Sora simply let himhave it, because even though he didn’t fully understand the nature of the Keyblade he knew this much, the Keyblade chooses its wielder. So while Kairi is not taking the Mark of Mastery exam with Sora and Riku she damn well better be training so we can see her become a badass at some point, because if it doesn’t happen I will honestly be severely disappointed.

So far we have seen Dilan, Aelus, Even, Ienzo, and Lea  return to the realm of light as Somebodies. That’s five of the eight Somebodies introduced in Birth by Sleep. Braig and Xehanort are shown in the realm of sleep so they have returned for this game, but Isa is the only person who’s Somebody has been introduced who is not shown. There must be a reason for hiding this. We can see by his golden eyes and pointed ears that he has tasted Xehanort’s darkness and I assume he may still be working with him to achieve whatever goal it is he has in mind.

With the game set to be released in 30 days these are two things that really bug me. I know there will be a lot of answers in this game and probably even more questions, but I know for a fact that these are two vital blank points being withheld  from us on purpose.

Quick notes on the new trailer

  • D-Nort is most likely the main antagonist, if not, it will be MX but D-Nort will be the one harassing the players throughout the length of the game
  • Braig is still fulfilling MX’s plans
  • We will most likely see every incarnation of Xehanort in this game, as well as other dark beings like Vanitas and D-Riku who I know will transform into dark Riku at one point
  • All the pieces are beginning to connect
  • Sora is shown sleeping on Xemnas’ throne, it’s likely that Xehanort incarnations are sitting around him instead of the actual Org.13
  • Isa/Saix is nowhere to be seen
  • Lea is back and on a mission from Yen Sid
  • Ven is shown asleep in his armor atop a Station of Awakening, if anyone can identify it please do so and submit the evidence ot me, for now I assume it is Sora’s by the trace amounts of red I see
  • The World That Never Was will play a major role in the plot, still no sign of Castle Oblivion though
  • The worlds with Mickey in them seem like a lighthearted break from the intense drama surrounding the plot
  • Ursula, what the hell are you doing in this trailer? Amd why are the kids in their KH1 outfits?
  • Characters like Namine and Xion will be expanded upon, as well as the rest who were feature din the Re:Coded ending
  • A hooded figure with red eyes, who or what is it?
  • Riku is being targeted, trying to be swayed back into the dakness
  • MARCH 29 RELEASE DATE
  • HAPPY VALENTINES DAY FANDOM!

Fire & Ice: How you’ve changed

Axel and Saix’s relationship is a prime example of why playing the side games is necessary for understanding the series, in Kingdom Hearts 2 Saix refers to Axel once and there is some hostility there, but due to the circumstances the player can understand the surface reason for this hostility but someone with a greater scope on the events of the series can see through the façade of treason. One of the most powerful scenes in 358/2 Days is when Saix confronts Axel about the Xion situation and asks him “Which would you rather sacrifice, some make believe friendship or a real one?” and ends up telling “Lea” that he’s changed. Axel retorts after Saix leaves and quietly tells him that he’s the one who changed.

So what happened to these two in the course of ten years? Let’s go back in time and see.

In Birth By Sleep Ventus meets a pair of boys named Isa and Lea in Radiant Garden. Lea challenges Ven to a duel and ends up losing to the boy, Isa watching from the sidelines lovingly mocks his friend. After this incident Lea decided that the two were friends and this, in my opinion, laid the foundation for Axel and Roxas’ friendship. But back to my main focus; while soft spoken and reserved, Isa seemed to be a good kid, albeit the calculating type.

Isa had the more dramatic change over the years, growing out his hair and it becoming much messier, the obvious “X” shaped scar, and finally the golden eyes and pointed ears. Let’s take a look at each of these features and examine them carefully.

Grown out and messy hair - Isa appears to be a well groomed young man, very calm and composed. While Saix is much more animalistic, his hair is much messier than his younger self and his personality is much more split. Granted, we never saw Isa beneath the moon, but it is obvious that he is much more vicious without a heart. Something must have shaped him into that.

The scar - For starters it’s “X” shaped. I will place bets on the fact that Xehanort was directly responsible for this much like he was for Braig losing his eye. Working with Xehanort causes collateral damage and something brutal must have happened for Isa to receive the scar and I believe that this event was what caused him to spiral into the cold beast we see in Kingdom Hearts 2.

The eyes and ears - It is a proven fact that those who have golden ears and pointed ears have been tainted by darkness, prolonged exposure to darkness also causes the tanning of skin, which is why Ansem SOD and Xemnas are almost black. But As for Saix, I believe that after he got his scar he began to fall into darkness until he lost his heart. And it was this gradual slip that drove the wedge between he and Lea.

But what happened to Lea? As he said to Roxas when he asked about his previous life, “Same guy more or less”. Lea grew up and grew his hair. The only noticeable difference is the two upside down black tears on his cheeks. And those could be associated with the mark of an assassin in certain Asian gangs. Since it was revealed that the restored Lea did not have these marks they must have been put on him when he joined the Organization. But aside from one physical trait Lea and Axel seem to be exactly the same person, just grown up.

It was in fact Isa who changed. He got involved with Xehanort while Lea reluctantly followed at a safe distance. But through all they went through they have had a common goal since they ran into Ven in Radiant Garden. But what that goal could have been is beyond me, but I can say that it must have been something big to keep them working together even after their friendship fell apart.

This trailer is going to confirm or dispute my Organization return theory

Axel has returned without the eye marks and is going by Lea. Think about how that is worded, they didn’t just say that Lea had returned, they called him Axel. If they had said Lea had returned I would be thinking he would look the same as his Birth by Sleep appearance but it seems the Lea of 3D looks like they said, like Axel without his eye marks. If this is the case than the scene where Terranort strikes down Braig would in fact be a flashback because Ienzo would have been older in that scene but instead still appears to be a child.

Though this makes me wonder if Isa will retain his scars upon his return…

thegoddamnbatking inquired,

i'm almost 100% positive that isa and lea fought and axel gave him that, i just really hope that 3ds goes into further detail about their friendship, and the goal they had. i find it one of the most interesting things in the kh universe.

As do I. It’s a major blank point but I believe the X scar has something to do with Xehanort as with the pointed ears and golden eyes. You have seen my post about the Nobodies with the golden eyes right?

thegoddamnbatking inquired,

what do you think of lea and isa's friendship?

As somebodies I truly believed they were best friends. Isa seemed very ambitious and Lea went along for the ride and the lulz. There was quite possibly something that happened between the two of them between the time Isa got his X scar and the time they lost their hearts that drove a wedge between them but they must have had a powerful common goal for Axel to continue doing Saix’s dirty work.
